FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Can you offer advice on garden design?
Yes this is part of our service. We can suggest design solutions to fit your ideas and also advise on products and suppliers.
  • What time of year can I have my hedges cut?
The best times of year to cut hedges, to avoid nesting birds, are September to March.
  • Which type of decking would you recommend?
There are two options with decking, wood and composite. Wood is a natural product which is more eco friendly, cheaper to buy and has an approximate life span of 15 years. Composite decking is a manmade product which is longer lasting, more expensive to buy and install and can be purchased in different colours and finishes. Once the client has given us their requirements we can suggest which one is more suitable.
  • Can you source and construct log cabins/garden offices?
We use several local suppliers and therefore can purchase them at a competitive price. We can prepare the ground, install the base and erect the cabin including the final fixings as part of the project.
  • What can you do to help with poor quality grass?
There are three options to improve grass. The most drastic is to remove the poor quality grass and re-turf. The second option is to scarify, hollow tine and seed the grass and the final option is to have us feed the grass bi-annually with our special miracle feed.
  • Can you remove old grout and replace it without changing the patio slabs?
We have had excellent results with this process. We remove the old grout, jet wash the slabs and replace the grout with resin grout in a range of colours. This gives a whole new lease of life to an aging patio.
  • Which type of fencing would you recommend for strength and longevity?
For maximum performance we would recommend close board fencing for boundary fences.
  • Can you suggest a durable and attractive solution for driveway surfaces which is not brick block paving?
For value for money, aesthetics and performance we would suggest affordable eco friendly grids which are then filled with gravel or pebbles
